In the course of living our lives, we tend to underestimate
the power of the small, yet powerful feeling which we call
love. In order to achieve our aspirations and reach the
heights of material success, we keep love at bay. This gives
rise to war. Even people who create war among themselves
or send people as pawns to the battlefield do not wish for
war. If we go beyond their flesh and blood and have a sneak
peek at their hearts, we will find that war is not what
they want at any cost. But there are various factors that
come in between thought and action and ultimately guide
us to doing things that are regrettable in future. For instance,
we submit ourselves to our ego and vendetta instead of conquering
negative feelings. We fall prey to the situation instead
of fighting back.
War is not what we need and it is no solution to any problem.
All of us know this simple truth, and yet we don't act rationally
though we are supposed to be rational beings. Dead and lifeless
corpses are not a sight our eyes desire. Bad news of people
dying is not pleasant to our ears or minds. We don't need
showers of bombs and bullets and the spilling of blood.
What we actually need is showers of love upon us. In the
end all that matters is love. When we are on the verge of
dying, the only thing that occupies our mind is whether
we have loved enough in our lifetime. I wish every one of
us recognized that infinite love held by our hearts from
the moment we drew our first breath and felt life in our
blood. I do agree it is impossible to love infinitely, but
at the least efforts can and should be made. As they say,
there is a beginning to everything, and it should start
at some point. So why not now? And just imagine the consequences:
no smile will fade from the gentle lips of innocent children,
no happiness will evaporate from the hearts of women and
no man will ever have to go through the dreadful state of
hanging between life and death, heading towards the latter.
Love will be in full bloom. There will be no more wars and
love will prevail. Isn't this a vision impressed in our
minds like holy writings carved on a stone wall? Isn't this
a fantasy we have carried with us for quite a long time?
Isn't this the imagination, yet to be turned into a reality,
which we thought we would never be able to experience? And
above all isn't this a miracle... a miracle we can make
happen, with a little effort and a whole lot of love...
and the twinkling stars and the silvery moon in the night
sky will smile among themselves and cast a faint light to
souls experiencing life and bless us with love... peace...
happiness... and freedom...

We are in such a condition that we can't feel love anywhere
in this world. Everybody wants love in his heart and peace
in his mind, but lost peace has returned. No one enjoys
war, except for the type believed to be demons in ancient
times. Here, on Hitsfm’s request to write something
about making love not war, I would like all of the people
who are in violence to make the safety landing of peace,
and request everyone do something to establish peace in
the nation.
Love is the symbol of peace, so if there is love it's not
hard to find peace. If everyone fighting had the sense of
love to each other instead, then they wouldn’t take
the path of killing and violence. It is now the turn of
today’s youth-you are superior, and no one, not even
the political leaders, can do anything for the nation, except
you. So go ahead to restore peace, and don't be too lazy
to do something good for nation. War never carries anything
except destruction and loss of lives. So if you feel the
same as me, let's find the way of establishing peace in
the nation!!!

"Kill one you're called a murder, kill thousands you're
called a warrior". This is a wise and practical saying.
As a human, I have to abide by everything happening in my
world, be good or bad. I sometimes become pessimistic and
think we are incorrigible. I feel that we can't change ourselves
and neither can we change the world. Of course this world
has changed a lot and people have also changed with it.
War, sins and crimes have invaded and are going on strong.
Weapons are given priority over hunger and starvation. The
wars of human race have become so intense that they have
even surpassed the prophecies of Norostodamus. War is an
everyday thing, which hasn't halted even once since the
day it started. People have strongly objected to different
wars but ended them only temporarily. Feelings of hatred
still lie deep inside the people's psyche.
Even so, people used different mediums to go against violence.
Music is one of those mediums. The hippies tried counter
culture protests. They organized festivals like Monterary
pop and Woodstock, only a couple of names in the uncountable
concerts were taking place around America-and this all for
the Vietnam War. Bands like Grateful Dead were venerated
by their large following of fans, called The Deadheads.
People were searching for peace and love, and would pay
any price to get a bit of it. They doped and stoned themselves
for several days for love and peace that was all temporary.
They used to say they were in heaven, although they didn't
know what heaven really was. I asked a girl for her point
of view on the hippies. She answered that she hated the
hippies, because she read about the hippies in her junior
high's American history text. They even had a question in
exams, which read, "Why were hippies not liked by the
society?" Everybody had three simple reasons, which
were clearly written in their textbooks. They were:
1. Hippies had uncontrolled sex
2. They used drugs
3. They never worked
I was in tears when I heard this answer, but I couldn't
argue. She only knew the three points which hippies were
not even aware of in those days. "Hippy" is not
a title; rather it is a way of life. It was their true spirit
and passion for different, new things. They were poor financially,
I agree, but they were very rich in spirit. There was a
time for hippies as well. They were enjoying every bit of
themselves anyhow they could. They created legends in their
era. They were against the war and wanted love and only
love. Together, they wanted to change the times. "All
we need is love,” sang the legendary Beatles, and
everyone around agreed with them. Abbie Hoffman once said,
"Peace is a very complicated concept. When the lion
gobbles up the lamb and wipes his lips, then there's peace.
Well, I ain't
